The Board of Directors of the NWT Chamber of Commerce recently took part in the Review of Electricity Regulation, Rates and Subsidy Programs.
To help ensure community chambers around the Territories got an equal chance to participate, the Board moved its April meeting to the NWT Business Development and Investment Corporation office to make use of videoconferencing technology.
The discussion was facilitated by Mark Cleveland, a member of the NWT Electricity Review Team.
Following the session, the Chamber Board has approved seven motions related to the Electricity Review.
These motions have been forwarded to the Review Team and the Energy Planning office of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment and are available for download as a PDF from the Documents page in the Members Only section of the NWT Chamber website, www.nwtchamber.com.
If you do not have your username or password for the Members Only portion of the site, please contact the Chamber office either by phone, 867-920-9505, or e-mail, admin@nwtchamber.com, and Executive Director John Curran will issue you the required information to gain access.
In association with the network of community Chambers of Commerce in Fort Simpson, Behchoko, Norman Wells, Fort Smith, Hay River and Yellowknife as well as the Northern Aboriginal Business Association, the NWT Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of more than 865 members. For more than 35 years, it has been the only pan-territorial voice of businesses across all sectors of the Northern economy.
